Stephen Kearney welcomes blogging first for Henley Parliamentary by-election6.11.00pm UTC (GMT +0000) Wed 4th Jun 2008
The new by-election blog by the Henley Acting Returning Officer has been welcomed by Stephen Kearney as a good experiment in keeping the public better informed. David Buckle, the Acting Returning Officer for the Henley by-election, has started a blog at http://henleybyelection.blogspot.com/ and its first posting includes an explanation of why he is the "Acting" Returning Officer. Henley Liberal Democrats campaign Stephen Kearney said, "I know from talking to many residents over the last couple of weeks how many questions people have about how elections work and why they are run the way they are. "It's really good to see those in charge taking this initiative, which I believe may be a first in the UK, and helping to demystify the process for the public. "I wish David Buckle and his team all the best with their endeavour."
